Also, what I mentioned in #77 still holds with 2.6.32-20-generic, but I
think I have a better description: when the volume is amplified to above
100% in the sound preferences, and a new sound is played, it is not
uncommon for the speakers to stop working (speakers only, the headphones
are fine), until a restart.

The mic is still not detected in the sound preferences.
