@Chase,
  I had previously seen this from time to time on Karmic, and still on lucid.  It bit me twice today while I was away from the machine, had to have someone reload modules for me.
  I use WEP auth, dd-wrt router (linksys wlan-54G).
If you need anything, feel free to ping me and I can test.
