[Bug 560448] [NEW] Video blanks on boot with desktop CD

I'm getting this on 10.04 Beta 2 on a Dell Inspiron e1505 with an NVIDIA
GeForce 7300.  I see the splash screen and then the screen goes black
(it looks like it's trying to switch modes), but then it never comes
back.  I think the rest of the system boots without the video.  I
followed the steps in bug 544815 comment #2 (this appears to be a
different problem) and I got video and was able to use the system
normally.
