I have the same problem here.
After an update (including kernel update) I can't suspend anymore. This are my specs:

Notebook Dell Inspiron 6400 (also know as E1505)
2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 12 04:38:19 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5300  @ 1.73GHz
