nickc78:   How strange, I can't observe any difference with my Acer
4810T running Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.31-21-generic-pae when I change
the SATA mode.  The system hangs (appears to be an IRQ conflict) after
hitting the hardware eject button.  Could you post details about your
BIOS, kernel, etc.?  I wonder if there are different DVD drive models
that affect the outcome.
