[Bug 553211] [NEW] system freeze after 5 minutes under lucid

Public bug reported:

Today i updated my system from karmic to lucid with  "update-manager -d"
with no problems. The problem is that with kernel

vmlinuz-2.6.32-18-generic (i686 32 bit)

the system freezes after five minutes (running i.e. netbeans and
rhythmbox). I now use my last karmic kernel  (vmlinuz-2.6.31-21-generic,
i686 32 bit) under lucid (updated today) to write this email. System is
stable as always with this kernel and the new lucid programs.

Time from  cooling fan start to complete freeze (no reaction on briefly pushing the power button) is approximately 5 seconds.
I try to deliver more info after rebooting with the new lucid standard kernel.
