Ndiswrapper works fine for my wireless card which is:
Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Marvell W8300 802.11 Adapter (rev 07)
It manages to connect to the internet after sudo modprobe ndiswrapper.
The problem is with adding "ndiswrapper" to /etc/modules. After editing this file, the system will get to the login screen, but once I login it sends me to the GNOME desktop, where I can't click on anything. The terminal still works, but many programs run from the terminal are limited or nonfunctional. Also, when I log off, it says file manager, panels, and a few other processes aren't responding.
To fix this all I had to do is reboot into a root shell, and delete the word ndiswrapper from /etc/modules.

My solution, though it works, was difficult to find. Having a script
run sudo modprobe ndiswrapper at startup works for me (oddly). I have
asked for help or ideas from many Ubuntu "gurus", but they were all
confused and unable to solve the problem.

Please look to fix this bug.

* I have tried both Windows XP and Win 98 drivers for my card.

** Affects: ndiswrapper (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
