Same problem on a Dell XPS M1210 since Hardy Heron (Ubuntu 8.04), I've
utilised others version of Linux and I get the same problem (No problems
in old Debian machines and Ubuntu 7.10). This bug was introduced in
Kernel version 2.6.24.
