Hi Nattgew,
This indeed sounds like you may have just unluckily upgraded at the
wrong time. Even though linux-meta was uploaded the new binary packages
might not yet have been accepted :( I hate to admit it but uploads are
sometimes done a bit sloppier in the earlier stages of the release
cycle, hence the disclaimer "Pre-releases of Karmic are *not* encouraged
for anyone needing a stable system or anyone who is not comfortable
running into occasional, even frequent breakage." Regardless, I'm going
to do a fresh jaunty installation and then upgrade it to Karmic to see
if I'm able to reproduce. Thanks!
