Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop live system swaps on LUKS/dm-crypt partitions.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8088875

This is a very serious problem! After the live system executes "mkswap"
on a LUKS partition, any data is lost because the blocks storing the
LUKS keys are trashed.

The LUKS/dm-crypt partition was set up by Ubuntu 8.10 setup. It was
marked "Linux" (hex code 83) - not swap! - and the first bytes were the
magic string "LUKS".
