Public bug reported:

LiveCD of ubuntu-9.10-beta-desktop-i386 will not boot on my Compaq CQ50-139NR Laptop. It gives a couple error messages,
but they blink so fast I can't see what they are. The previous Apha versions booted, but also gave error messages durning
the boot process. This latest version (~10-06-09) displays a white Ubuntu logo on the center of the screen, and just hangs at that point. The CDROM LED is constantly blinking. Previous versions gave error messages but at least they booted.

What information can I offer to assist you? I'd like to move up from Ubuntu 8.04.3 in the future, but I need a bootable
LiveCD to do that for a fresh install.

I may be able to use my camera in BURST mode to capture the errors, if
needed.

I wish I could provide more help.
