[Bug 446110] [NEW] -12 kernel causes boot to halt at initramfs shell / boot hangs with "waiting for root file system"

Public bug reported:

Booting the new kernel causes to hang at waiting for root file system,
showing me an initramfs shell.

The problem is intermittend. I already changed my fstab to use /dev/sda1
instead of the UUID, which solved the problem. Restored it back to UUID,
no problems for a couple of boots. Then this morning again.

Added rootdelay=10 and booted just fine.

Let me know if you need more information from me.

I don't have this problem with the -10/-11 kernel.
