Seeing this still on Karmic Beta:
Linux version 2.6.31-11-generic (buildd at yellow) (gcc version 4.4.1 (Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu4) ) #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 2 11:06:40 UTC 2009

It's a 1TB Toshiba USB drive and it also needs the afm. "max_sectors"
trick. However, i'm under the expression that the drive worked flawless
under Jaunty (since i managed to put a few hundred gigs onto it...).

~$ udevadm info --attribute-walk --name=/dev/sdg

Udevadm info starts with the device specified by the devpath and then
walks up the chain of parent devices. It prints for every device
found, all possible attributes in the udev rules key format.
A rule to match, can be composed by the attributes of the device
and the attributes from one single parent device.
