I'm also seeing problems on my T41 (ibm thinkpad). Linux Mint 7 works ok
most of the time (based on 9.04), while both vanilla ubuntu 9.04 and
9.10 will *not* work. Strangely enough, Mint 8 RC1 (based on 9.10) also
*doesn't work", so it seems to be bug compatible with 9.10.
