I installed the test kernel from the following source and it fixed the
problem:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/stefan-bader-canonical/ppa/ubuntu intrepid
main

I imagine those fixes will be moved to the mainline kernel at some stage
soon. Using the one above will give you a fix for the meantime.
