Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image
On a fully updated Jaunty system, with the latest kernel, and running on an Intel Core2 Quad CPU, there
is no entry in /sys for the CPU scaling governor.
i.e. This file (referenced by the ondemand initscript) is missing:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor
On another system with the same CPU (but running Mandriva 2009.0), the
scaling_governor entry is present.
I originally filed this as a bug in the ondemand initscript (Bug
#348715), but the initscript is correct, and so I suspect it is actually
a kernel bug.
Kernel version: Linux blackberry 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri
Mar 27 09:00:52 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
For dmesg, lsmod etc, see my earlier report on bug #348715.
Lastly, this might also relate to bug #344875.
