Still happens.
jarkko at gandalf:~$ uname -a
Linux gandalf 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 27 10:01:17 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
jarkko at gandalf:~$

sudo modprobe -r iwlagn 
sudo modprobe iwlagn
fixes the situtation.
