Hi Gene,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. The reason this bug was likely getting overlooked was because
it was assigned to the entire Ubuntu project as a whole rather than
against the specific kernel package (linux). It is important to make
sure bugs are filed against a specific package to help ensure it gets
looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the
right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I'll go
ahead and reassign this to the "linux" kernel package.

If you could please attach your entire dmesg output to this report that
would be great. Also, after you experience this freeze and need to
reboot, can you take a look and see if anything like a kernel oops or a
kernel panic is logged to /var/log/kern.log.0 ? You also mention you
think this may be related to your wireless driver. What happens if you
unload the driver?

sudo rmmod ath5k

Are you able to reproduce the crash/freeze? Please let us know your
results. Thanks.
