[Bug 264789] Re: USB Hard Drive Not Accessible, vol_id hangs

I wonder why apparently nothing is done about this bug? I think it is
quite serious and defenetly a show stopper for new linux users, who
doesn't wants to mingle around with virtualbox and other workarounds,
just to acces their external drives. Also, it seems to be a fairly
simple bug (based on the above and the fact that it actualy worked fine
until 8.04).
