Bjorn Tipling, since you are the original bug reporter, can you comment
if this is still an issue for you with the most recent 2.6.27-11 kernel
in intrepid-proposed (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed) or
if possibly the even newer 2.6.28 based kernel available in the upcoming
Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha3) resolves this for you -
