[Bug 320788] [NEW] Installing linux-backports-modules-intrepid causes my networkcard doesn't work

To get my system running solid I had to install linux-backports-modules-
intrepid (if I wouldn't I would get kernel panics from network-manager
using wireless
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/277391) which
effected that my networkcard doesn't work anymore.

My system: acer 5610 (core 2 1,6GHz, 1GB ram, Intel 945GM videocard,
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 100Base-
TX (rev 02) ethernet using Ubuntu 8.10 i386 with all updates.
