[Bug 182473] Re: rtl8187 drops connection

I just tried the steps provided by Saul D. B. and gave the compat-wireless-2009-01-12 a try together with my built-in RTL8187B USB module.
Compilation on Ubuntu 8.10 was possible without any problems and installation of the new drivers as described went fine.

- at least wicd doesn't hang any more (see issue (3) in my previous comment posted on  2008-12-23)
- signal quality seems to be better than with the original driver, but I will have to do some additional hours of testing in order to see, how things work out...
