BeSt, I'm not saying it's a solution but a work around for some of us.
I'm sorry it doesn't solve your problem but it might help someone who
has the same settings as mine until the problem is solved.

Have any of you tried to rename compiz, drop to command line to avoid
all graphics and then try to generate large amounts of traffic?
