[Bug 328723] [NEW] no sound on a Toshiba SP6000 - ubuntu 8.04

Public bug reported:

I have a laptop running ububtu 8.04, bios 1.6, sound card ALI5451. Since I have upgraded the BIOS from 1.4 to 1.6 I have no sound at all.
Please help me in solving this issue.
