Moreover, 15 minutes later the same happened to my friend running on
Ubuntu 8.04 2.6.24-22. Intel 3945 just stopped working with the same
errors in the syslog as I've posted above.

As well as my setup - he had no problems with iwl3945 wifi for months.
No upgrades, nothing. It just stopped working.
