Hi Scott,
Yesterday, during my analysis, I observed that apparmor 2.3.1+1403-0ubuntu31 did not contain more the erroneous script .
Given the impact of apparmor, I did not want to take risks.
On your advice, I made the update. 
It worked perfectly.
