*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 263555 ***

The e1000e driver was disabled because it is suspected to cause problems
with integrated gigabit chipsets. Your Ethernet controller, while it is
only a 10/100 one, should be serviced by the e1000e driver in Intrepid,
probably because of similarities in the chipset.

It's a duplicate in the sense that your bug won't be resolved until bug
#263555 is fixed in a way that will allow the driver to be re-enabled.
My understanding is that there are many people (including people from
Intel) who are working to resolve the issue.
