I have a Mio GPS device that suffers from the same problems, both with
ehci_hcd and uhci_hcd (both as an SD card reader and when accessing the
internal flash).

lsusb:
Bus 005 Device 005: ID 045e:ffff Microsoft Corp.

lspci:
00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 02)

I tried the Intrepid Alpha 5 live CD, and it gave me the same result. I
tried the autosuspend trick from post 209, no change. A year and a half
and no fix (not even a diagnosis) in sight. Wow!
