This problem still exists with ubuntu kernel 2.6.27-2-generic.

I have the same mainboard GA-8S649MF-FS and my pc hangs if I try to load
sis190.

If I disable the networkcard in the BIOS, I experience no problems
except that on shutdown the pc doesn't turn of, but reboots.

If I blacklist sis190, and enable the network card again in the bios,
shutdown is working normally too.

Something specific with this mainboard is wrong?
