I'm marking this "Fix Released" for Intrepid.

Mariner09 - the iwl4965 driver is compiled into the 2.6.27 kernel:

ogasawara at emiko:~$ grep -rn "CONFIG_IWL4965" /boot/config-2.6.27-2-generic 
1835:CONFIG_IWL4965=y

Regarding the annoying blinking LED in Intrepid, refer to bug 250211.
