As of the latest kernel update in Intrepid, 2.6.27-2, I'm ablw to 2 and
3 finger tap again, so I'll assume tht something was fixed in the driver
between then and now, although nothing jumped out at me in the
changelog.

Ferdinand, is your problem fixed as well? if so I think you can close
this bug at least in relation to Intrepid.
