[Bug 291201] [NEW] r8169 module, multicast doesn't work on Realtek 8101E nics

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic up to the latest
2.6.27-7 in Intrepid.

Multicast packets are ignored by r8169 driver for Realtek 8101E.

This is my card (on an MSI Wind):
01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E
PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02)

Multicast is not working at all : no avahi, no ipv6 conf etc...

This may be related to  bug #258882... but it's NOT fixed (yet) now for
the rtl8101E nics.
