I have the same issue, I have a HP Pavilion DV6620es. I need to hold a
key down to run Kernel 2.6.27; with 2.6.24 (Hardy), the PC boot without
problems.

I think that this bug will be in the Final Relase of Ubuntu Intrepid :-(
Please, fix it or add kernel 2.6.24 to Intrepid.

I am going to post the attachments.
With the option "acpi=noirq" i can boot the PC normally in 2.6.27.
