[Bug 289994] [NEW] sony gc89 not recognized by network-manager

this is to report that a popular PCMCIA GSM card for T-mobile in the
United States, is not in the Mobile Broadband Cards cards table of
wiki.ubuntu.com.  I believe this PC card is a Broadcom 4306, and its
default node, at least on my pc, is /dev/ttyS1.  I cannot get it to
respond using the probing instructions provided on wiki.ubuntu.com.

I have included the kern.log and sys.log, as well as the requested
information from the site.  I can see the device identified in lspci,
and the 802.11 interface on the same card appears to be working fine.
