Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-server
I am currently using the nvidia-glx-173 driver with the 2.6.27-7-generic kernel on Intrepid without problems.
However, my machine has 4GB RAM and only 3GB is available to the generic kernel. So I tried to switch to the linux-image-server kernel instead (current version is 2.6.27.7.8) but with this the nvidia driver fails to load on startup.
On Hardy I was able to use the nvidia driver with the server kernel.
