What have you got in /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf? Is the ARRAY definition for
the old array in there? If so, comment it out and reboot (or unmount
everything and restart mdadm, but reboot is maybe easier!)
It might also be worth removing the entry that creates the array on your
loop devices and assemble it again from scratch. Hopefully it will work,
which would get 2.6.27 off the hook.
(By the way, I'm sure you know this already, but raid0 shoudn't be used
for any data you don't have copies of elsewhere, particularly with four
drives. A few days ago, I had a drive go wrong in a four drive raid 0
and it's instant loss of all data. However, my array was just for
backups, so not an issue, which is why I felt OK going for raid 0.)
