I'm also having problems with my ipw2100 on a T41, and getting the
firmware restart messages, but in dmesg, the firmware appears to load.
I wonder if there might be another problem (this is Intrepid 2.6.27)
mike at sharpie:~/Downloads$ sudo iwconfig eth4 key 11122233344455566677788899
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device eth4 ; Operation not supported.
mike at sharpie:~/Downloads$ sudo iwconfig eth4

Bit Rate=11 Mb/s Tx-Power:16 dBm

It seems that it is not setting the wireless key. Wireless was working great in 2.6.24.
Also, lsmod seems to show 0 next to ipw2100, not sure if that is significant.
I've tried disabling/enabling using the hotkey (I saw this somewhere else), and rmmod / modprobe ipw2100, with no luck.

More interesting stuff from dmesg:

Thanks for looking into this, let me know if I should post more debug
stuff.
