Problem part 2 (connection is down after boot) seems to be a duplicate of the following:

(These bugs again include references to forum entries with similar problems.)

I will try out the fixes given in these threads and then report back.

Problem part 1 (CCMP: decrypt failed) seems to be unrelated.
