I would just like to add what I am seeing, I am also running Ubuntu 7.10
Gutsy - Kernel Linux 2.6.22-14-generic on an HP 6715b laptop with the
AMD M690T chipset. I am getting the reset problem when trying to write
to flash based memory sticks. I have tried to disable the autosuspend as
mentioned above but with no effect. However I do have a 500gb usb hard
drive and a battery powered 20gb hard drive and these both seem to work
fine, so i am only seeing the problem with unpowered devices.
