remove this problem from bug list, my mistake.
During ubuntu installation I reserved an area of 100MB for \boot directory. On the system I left too many upgrade whiteout removing old kernel. So yesterday, I tried  to remove old kernels and now the /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-19-generic is correctly installed. Thank you ...
