Hi,

I also have the same problem with ubuntu, under gnome (nautilus), in french.
I tried to DELETE the file that totem was reading with sudo rm -rf ...
the file was deleted, but totem was impossible to close

tried sudo kill 5565 (the totem process id)
tried sudo pkill totem
tried to kill ans end the process with the System monitor too.

.... nothing to do.

$ ps aux | grep totem
user1      5565 99.7  3.4 181864 69940 ?        DNl  May30 4010:41 totem file:///home/user1/Bureau/2008_05_27_06h20m_pm.avi
