Removing the sensors-applet solved the problem for me! I still didn't
experience either this bug nor the touchpad losing sync at all since I
removed it!
I don't think its the fault of the applet itself but to bad ACPI
requests and or bad ACPI handling!!!
I work alot with my notebook and I experienced this bug like once every 2 minutes especially when programming with Eclipse or browsing the web etc (in nearly every application).
And my Touchpad was unusable right after the notebook was booted!!
And as I said - when I reduced the sensors update interval from 1 sec to
5 sec the bug appeared less often but still appearend a couple of times
per hour and the touchpad was partially useable. After removing the
applet (and the sensors stuff) from the system I didn't experience any
of those 2 bugs at all!!! And that for 2 weeks now and I use my notebook
up to 10 hours a day (sometimes even more).
I think in my case at least I could track it down to ACPI! If someone
wants me to install the applets again (to prove that my theory is
correct and for further testing - I havent done that yet because I work
on that notebook alot and I was scared of losing work and much time!) I
will do so! But hurry, because I bought myself a PowerBook from Apple
and I wont use Linux then anymore. I have only 1 - 2 weeks left for
tracking it down (then I give my notebook to my sister)
