guys,

I don't know if this is relevant, but I am sucessfully using rt73usb and
rt2500usb modules, and my wireless works dandy (in gutsy).

However, I can confirm that it is VITAL that they are loaded in that order.
I have an ADVENT 9112 laptop which worked "out-of the-box" with the live CD... but not after the install to hard disk.
Comparing the dmesg from the 2 setups, it struck me that those two modules were loaded in a different order.

I can now confirm, that for my setup at least, removing these modules
then reinstalling in numerical order works (tested 20+times)

ie. (as root)
rmmod rt2500usb
rmmod rt73usb
modprobe rt73usb
modprobe rt2500usb.

Please don't flame me if this is of no use to you, or filed under the incorrect bug.
regards.
Neil.
