Public bug reported:

After suspend-to-ram kernel 2.6.22-14-generic doesn't start the system timer.
The waking procedure takes some key pressing and/or mouse movements to proceed.

Previous version 2.6.20-16-generic [from ubuntu 7.04] worked perfectly
on this hardware.

System configuration: ubuntu 7.10 (upgraded from 7.04)

=========

Expected result: interrupt count from system timer increases at least by 100 and time increases by 1 second.
Effect occurs: always after suspend-to-ram
Curiously, if a suspend-to-disk is made after that, the system reverts to normal functioning.

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
