Upgraded a Dell SC1425 from hardy to intrepid. Controller: Adaptec
ASC-39320(B), module: aic79xx

linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic drops to in the intitramfs, waiting a bit
and running exit allows the startup to continue.

linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic booted fine.

[ 18.052547] aic7902: Ultra320 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, PCI-X 101-133Mhz, 512 SCBs

You can see from the timestamps it takes a little while for the disk to
show up.

Installed linux-image-2.6.27-10-generic from proposed (
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed )

Same issue.

added rootdelay=90 to kopt line in /boot/grub/menu.lst, ran update-grub,
reboot, system boots fine.

** Attachment added: "dmesg output after booting"
