No, I'm sorry - I was a bit short here.
The main issue is a problem for me (see further up the thread).
I was addressing Morten Minke's problem:
"I do not want to mix bugs here, but I think I have an issue which might be related to this one because of the powerplug in/out trick which also makes the boot continue. Apparently something is triggered by this action."
The main issue has two different workarounds for me:
1. Attach the power cord during boot
2. Add nolapic in kernel options
(acpi=noirq didn't work last time I tried)
