Updated from .27-1 to .27-2, I only have now :

boomer at boomer-laptop:~$ dmesg | grep uvesa
[    1.937205] uvesafb: Unknown parameter `mode'

I no longer have the "error -22".

Thanks to Harvey Muller for the following news:

"Uvesafb will not work in Ubuntu until Debian/Ubuntu begin shipping v86d
built against klibc. Or the user successfully builds v86d against klibc
themselves."
