The Hardy kernel uses the rt2x00 driver that is in the kernel upstream.
There have been several fixes since 2.6.24 release and I got a test
kernel with most of them at:
http://people.ubuntu.com/~smb/rt2x00-test/
There is a chance this patchset might make it into the final Hardy
release but we need feedback, whether this is an improvement. So please,
any volunteers to try this are welcome.
@IvD
As far as I can tell the version in Linus tree is 2.0.14. I am not expert in that field but it seems the more recent driver cannot be built easily for the Hardy kernel since it uses quite a lot mac80211 functionality that isn't in Hardy. A solution would be to put the advanced driver into linux-backport-modules. But this requires a codebase that can be compiled and used with the current Hardy code. But this requires more time (and knowledge) than I have.
