Well, here's some more info:
Running "ls -l /proc/22189" as a normal user gives:
ls: cannot read symbolic link /proc/22189/cwd: Permission denied
ls: cannot read symbolic link /proc/22189/root: Permission denied
ls: cannot read symbolic link /proc/22189/exe: Permission denied

Running "ls /proc/22189" as root hangs.
steve at halorentz:~$ cat /proc/22189/cpuset
/
steve at halorentz:~$ cat /proc/22189/maps
(hangs)
steve at halorentz:~$ cat /proc/22189/mounts
(gives a long list of mounts including a couple dozen ltspfs mounted flash drives, it doesn't seem that they're getting unmounted after use?)
