Yes, I spoke too soon. :-(

Here's the sequence of errors for me on my R61:

irq 20: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option)
handlers:
[<f888a6a0>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x60 [usbcore])
Disabling IRQ #20
ata3: COMRESET failed (errorno=-16)
